Tickets at the door — $15 adults – $5 kids 12 & under
(Regular or Vegetarian available. Dine in or Take Out.)

All proceeds of this event go to benefit our “Spay it Forward Program” to Spay/Neuter animals in our Valley for Low Income/Disabled/Active Military.

Our Community – Programs & Projects

In addition to Rescuing Dogs and Cats, Wags to Riches is busy In Our Community helping animals in loving homes stay with their family, providing means for Spay and Neuter procedures for those that need financial help, and assisting the next generation of Veterinary Technicians with a Scholarship.  Below are just a few of the Programs & Projects Wags is a part of in the Yakima Valley…

YVC Vet Tech Scholarship

This fund provides one scholarship, sponsored by Wags to Riches Animal Rescue in the amount of $2,000, generally awarded in August. This scholarship is for a student at Yakima Valley College who is in at least their second year of the Veterinary Technology Program.

Local Grants

Thanks to a 2023 Grant from Legends Casino ~ Yakama Cares ~  awarded to Wags, we were able to create Project Mealtime for Pets. Senior Citizens live longer, happier and healthier lives with a pet by their side!  Meals on Wheels is taking care of the people, Wags is taking care of the pets with the help of this grant.

Volunteers filled 3,000  2gal. Ziploc baggies of dog food and 2,100 2gal. Ziploc baggies of cat food as well as 560 cans of cat food.

Senior Pet Companion Program

The Donna Prime Senior Pet Companion Program is available to seniors, 62 and older, needing a bit of help with Veterinary care, vaccinations & Micro-Chips.

This program provides assistance to keep their best friend and eliminate the choice between caring for their pets or themselves. Many researchers are finding that the most serious disease for older persons is not cancer or heart disease — it’s loneliness.

Spay It Forward

Spay or Neuter surgery carries a one-time cost that is relatively small when one considers its benefits. It’s a small price to pay for the health of your pet and the prevention of more unwanted animals.

Wags to Riches “Spay It Forward” program reduces the number of homeless animals and the number of euthanized animals in our Yakima County by altering companion dogs and cats for low-income, disabled and military families.

Animal Rescue

These animals are often rescued from abusive or tragic circumstances and become wards of Wags. Other circumstances include Owner Surrenders and dogs that are “pulled” from the Humane Society if we have Foster homes available.

Wags to Riches relies on Foster homes to care for our rescues.  Fostering, in your home, is an undertaking of tremendous value and equal reward. It takes a village and we can’t help the animals without Fosters!

Whiskers & Purrs

It is no secret that there is an incredible over-abundance of cats and kitten in the Yakima Valley and they are most likely to be dumped alongside the road, in the river, in abandoned buildings or orchards and left to starve to death.

All cats or kittens that come to Wags go into Foster homes until they are either adopted or transferred to another No-Kill entity in our state.

Fostering, in your home, is an undertaking of tremendous value and equal reward.

Kids Education Programs

Our primary mission is to encourage, in children, the lifelong appreciation of the value of animals.

Respect, Responsibility and Rescue – Teaching respect for animals and responsible behavior.

Bite-Proofing our Children – Teaching dog body-language and warning signs and what to do.

Kid’s Wall of Kindness – Paw Prints, signed by the kids,  and are placed on the Wall by those kids who promise to always be kind to animals.

We Will, We Promise Program

Have You Made a Plan?

If the time comes when you can’t take care of your pet anymore we will take your pet(s) and we will keep them safe. We will find your pet(s) a new loving home to live in. In the beginning they will go to a Foster family to help them thru the grieving process.

We will try to gather up the pieces of their heart to put it back together again.
